Sylvia Chen, PA-C, MMS

Sylvia was born in Missouri and grew up in Southern California. She received her Bachelor’s in Science at UCLA and obtained her Master’s in Science and her Medical PA School training at Midwestern University in Chicago. She then completed an Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency at the San Bernardino County Hospital. Sylvia has been working as an OB/GYN PA since 2001. Her experience and knowledge is vast and she remains diligent on staying up to date with the changes and breakthroughs in the field of women’s healthcare. She is the past Director of an OB/GYN PA Residency Program. Sylvia is also the past President of the Association of PAs in OB/GYN and is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, American Academy of Physician Assistants, and the California Academy of Physician Assistants. She received the North American Menopause Society Excellence Award and the Award of Excellence for exemplary work and dedication to the PA Profession. She is an advocate for women and for educating them on their health. She speaks Mandarin Chinese.

Sylvia enjoys spending her free-time with her husband and two children. She has an upbeat personality and gentle hands which is wonderful at calming those with anxiety from gynecology visits. Her approach to life centers around following John Wooden’s 7-Point Creed to Life: (1) Be true to yourself. (2) Make each day your masterpiece. (3) Help others. (4) Drink deeply from good books. (5) Make friendship a fine art. (6) Build a shelter against a rainy day. (7) Pray for guidance and give thanks for your blessings every day. .
